Today's world is full of images. Gone are the days when photography was only limited to professionals. All you need today is a mobile and are you are good to go. Still, photography as a profession is greatly valued even today. Not everyone is capable of clicking quality photographs. Besides having that bulky DSLR, you also need skills and expertise to produce good results.
Photographs help you treasure precious moments of your life. And what is more treasurable than your wedding day or the engagement ceremony. Hiring a professional photographer is not a new thing for such occassions. But nowadays the expectations have changed. We want our photographs to speak, to tell a story, as if it were a movie and we were the stars. And why not! The bride and groom are stars indeed. Choosing a photographer becomes all the more critical.
In this post we will list down the different styles of photography involved here.
1. Traditional
As the name suggests the focus is on customary rituals. It could be your Varmaala, Pheras, Havan or Pooja. The aim here to capture the events as a story by focusing on traditional aspects of the ceremony.
2. Classical
This is mostly about those posed photographs which you often see in the wedding albums. Relatives-gathering-on-the-stage-with-the-couple kind of pics. This might not sound interesting but infact these are the most important pictures of the ceremony. Just imagine that your Buaji was excited wearing her new saari, but when was angry to notice that she didn't have single pic with the couple. Ha Ha, no one of us wants this scenario. This sums up the importance of these pics. Also these pics are huge in terms of numbers.
3. Candid
This is the most sought after style. Here the photographer just roams around and never asks you to pose. People are caught in midst of coversations, sharing a good laugh, and often with memorable expressions. Candid pics are most effective in caputuring the mood of the event, and often produce most treasured pictures.
But the downside is it hard to capture the every occassion with just a single photographer. Don't worry there are ways to overcome this too, and will be discussed later.
4. Photojournalistic
This style captures the event with an element of reality. It is indeed a form of candid photography where the focus is more of capturing the story behing the shot. These if clicked well can actually tell a lot. However this would require presence of mind besides the expertise and skills.
This trend too is catching up nowadays with people renoucing cliches. But one needs to chose the photographer more carefully here.
5. Artistic
This catergory ozzes of art and creativity. This requires a substanial experience and skills on the part of photographer, apart from his gear. These would be a few but would make one hell of photography to hang on your wall.
